Always Forward, Never Back
I need people to know that when I meet up with them, it’s never that I’m not curious about what’s been happening in their lives. I care deeply — I just move forward so fast that anything in the past drops out of my mind. By the time I see someone again, their “news” has become yesterday’s file, and my brain doesn’t reopen old files unless something prompts it. It can look like I don’t ask, or like I’m not interested, but that’s never the intention. It’s simply how my neurodivergent brain works: always forward, never back. I feel rude saying it, but it’s the truth — my care isn’t missing, my recall is.
Footnote-
I write notes to recall whats happening, to make sure I follow up. But I forget to check, or loose them.
